Born in a remote village in México , with a pencil in my hand, I knew very fast that my path would be different. I was building my own universe in secret, while seeming to follow a normal path. . I started to paint more seriously at 18, after a night of love with a muse. From that point on, I decided that I would from now on do only what I really loved in my life.
I then started to show my paint
ings in various industrial alternative spaces.
At 19, I founded the ORGANIC FRESH HEROES, my first Art group with Mathias García and made several happenings, parties, and exhibitions in Baja California and in Europe, completing the cycle by a giant happening at Museum of Contemporary Art of Montreal in 2001. Then, I started extended travels all over the world to learn art in the tradition of all cultures, from Mauritania, to Morocco, to Bali, Mexico and Thailand, creating on location hundreds of paintings and murals, living the gypsy existence.
In 2001, I founded CIRCO DE BAZUKA & EMILIANOZ A PATA ART COLLECTIVE , a group of artists, a laboratory of existence based on the alchemic fusion of contemporary art and other arts and culture. With this circus, we created giant events for the Just for Laughs Festival, world premiere Galas for Cirque du Soleil and many more special events.
I also started to collaborate in several photography projects with Young & Rubicam Agency, and on many films with my art collective, always in the desire to spread the vision in various medias.
In between travels, I installed my studio in different cities: Montréal,San Francisco, Mexico, Bali, New York and Paris, creating in a bohemian spirit with local artists, accumulating collaborations in art, fashion, circus arts, photography (with famous Parisian Studio Harcourt), literature, film, mysticism and eroticism. Every city has brought me an intense period of painting.
For 10 years, I created an independent distribution system for my paintings. Only in 2003 have I started to present my work in art galleries and art fairs, in order to reach a wider audience.
I have been commissioned to create large-scale pieces for international headquarters of companies such as Cirque du Soleil and L’Oréal Canada, as well as restaurants and clubs throughout the globe.
I always loved to share the ritual of creation, resulting in big performances, such as for the “Nuit blanche” both in Paris and Montréal, as well as numerous live paintings all over the world. In 2007, I was commissioned to do a giant live-painting performance at the 1st edition of ILUMINATO, Toronto’s Art festival, where I painted a 35 by 55 feet mural outside in 10 days.
Furthermore, I founded a new art group, the SECRET SILK SOCIETY, with several artists from all over the world, seeking for a new iconography with a revolutionary consciousness.
I am also an active member of non profit galleries, which supports and promotes public art around world. Its mission is both artistic and social as the projects involves creating murals within and for local communities. In the summer of 2008, I did two large-scale murals on city walls.
I am attracted more and more to large-scale project, like the creation of my dream, a traveling carousel “The Wheel of Freedom”, and multi-media seven minutes of whirling magical experience, for free, traveling in all big cites of the world.
México in my soul...
I have decided one day that the red wine was sacred. Since that day, it became a ritual to drink red wine. I have decided one day that every skin was like desert purity, since that day, it became a journey to make love.
I paint, again.
You will be my dream in my bed – doors to the other world. I will walk quietly in the studio – hunting for new colors – I will try that night to meet her in her dreams – my dreams will keep leading me to a vast land, free of humans. My dr |
