The Devil Wears Prada is a christian metalcore band from Dayton, Ohio. They currently are signed to Rise records, and have released a full length CD titled "Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord" which was released on August 22nd 2006. The band also released an EP in 2005 entitled "Patterns of a Horizon". All of the EP songs have been re-recorded for the full length. They are one of the hottest up and coming bands in the scene today, with heavy riffs, catchy singing, and heartfelt screams about faith and struggles. The band is set to release there new album entitled "Plauges" and it is set to be released on August 21st of 2007! Although the band's inspiration for their name was from the eponymous novel, The Devil Wears Prada, lead-singer Mike Hranica states this in the band's blog (www.myspace.com/tdwp): "It's the same concept as our lyrics "emeralds hold no hope" and many many others. What we believe it to mean is that possessions don't matter at all and someday everyone will realize that this is true. When standing before God, He won't care about your sweet Prada scarf or Gucci shoes or whatever. It's a Christian reasoning for the name, we didn't name it to attempt at being fashionable or whatever." During a recent interview with East Coast Romper, the band has claimed Underoath and Still Remains as their major influences. The Devil Wears Prada's new album, titled "PLAGUES", was released on August 21, 2007. A demo song called "Hey John, What's Your Name Again?" was placed on MySpace on July 1, 2007. This song was later to be released as a single and it's video debuted on MTV2 November 2nd, 2007.
