Taylor Wane (born August 27, 1968 in Gateshead, England) is the stage name of a British pornographic actress, director, and model. She was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2005.[2] Wane initially wanted to be a teacher.[3] However, at age 18, her mother entered her into a calendar girl competition, which she won.[3] This led to her wanting to become a model, and she was soon signed by an agency.[3] After moving to London, her career headed towards topless modeling.[3] She then moved to Los Angeles, where she spent over a year modeling for men's magazines, before entering the adult film industry at the age of around 21.[3] She began directing in 1992[citation needed] and has since directed at least 30 films.[citation needed] In June 1994 she was the Penthouse Pet of the Month. Wane has appeared on television programs including Howard Stern On Demand, Mind of the Married Man, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Nip/Tuck and My Bare Lady.[3] She has recently appeared on Wipeout as a contestant.[citation needed] She has written columns for Swank, Leg Pleasure, XXX Erotic film guide and "Baggage"
