RASH started as a band in late-2013 when Maximiliano Filardi (Max) met with Abed Kariuki (Abedi) in University and realized that they had the same passion in Rock Music. After that Max’s brother Sebastian Filardi (Sebas) joined in and immediately Samuel Warui (Sam) came into the picture after Abedi bumped into him in the same University, Samuel Gakungu (Gakosh) came in as the drummer and ever since that day the members vowed to make music that will cross the East African Boundaries and appease not only the local scene but International rock scene. In the recent years, due to personal reasons, Abed Kariuki was replaced by Yubu Kazungu on rhythm guitar and background vocals, and Sebastian Filardi was replaced by Jona Mwendwa on bass.Yubu was latter on replaced by Evans Mutanduki (komora).On 17th of November, the band held the 5th edition of their own event called Legions, celebrating 5 years of the existence of the band, performing alongside other reknown artists from the Nairobi Rock scene. The band was nominated by Afrima 2018 for the category of Best African Rock 2018 with the song called Nitachange ft. Ruff. RASH was also nominated for the Urban Music Awards for Best African Artist in the year 2018. RASH has performed live at the Afrima Awards Opening Ceremony on 21 November 2018, Accra, Ghana.Rash was nominated again by Afrima for the second time in a row and won the cartegory for best artist duo or group in African Rock for our song Grave robbers.
