Brigand

Brigand was formed in February 2011 by Velibor Nikolić, former frontman, guitarist and singer of Jewy Sabatay, the cult band from Pančevo (Serbia). Band members also are Milan Sarić (drums) and Stefan Gaćeša (bass guitar). The genre band plays is an essentially alternative rock with shoegaze, noise, experimental, doom / sludge metal influences, with introspective lyrics that only occasionally dive into social themes. Their first live performance was in April 2011 in Belgrade. From the very beginning, they started with recordings and production and quickly released two singles "Malarme" and "Okovan" (2011) with the goal of quick affirmation in underground circles. In September 2013, the debut album "Zaplešimo Grešnici" came out via Black Planet Records, which has picked up very good reviews both in the country and abroad. From the start two songs were singled out, "Voleo Sam Te" and "Metak S’ Mojim Imenom”. Special attention was drawn to the guest appearance of the cult keyboard player and singer of the band Swans, Jarboe, in the song "Tri Noći". In the meantime, besides club and joint concert performances, band performed in various festivals, including Arsenal fest, Belgrade Beer fest, Vračar Rock fest, and many more. After three years of promotion of the album mainly in Serbia, band performed in Bulgaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Velibor performed independently in the Netherlands, the group returns to the studio to record their second album. In February 2017 "Daleko Je Vavilon" came out also for Black Planet Records, and it was announced with the video single "Most Je Prešao Reku". This album although strives to be darker than it’s predcesor, with heavier sound and gloomier lyrics, also gets remarkable criticis from regional media, with an emphasis on the quality of the production and lyrics.
